After Forever is the fifth and final studio album by Dutch symphonic metal band After Forever. It was released in the United States on 28 September 2007 under Nuclear Blast Records, their first album with the label. The album reached No. 6 on the Dutch album charts
"Enter" features a beautiful choir and orchestra, with the participation of Amanda Somerville (Aina), while "Come" is a thumping slam with aggressive riffs, Floor singing divinely (including lyrical vocals), and the keyboards of the newcomer Joost Van Der Broek. The same can be said here of "Boundaries Are Open", which brings a heavy/gothic mix, driven by guitars and with a well-placed keyboard. "Living Shields" is very heavy (echoes of Stratovarius can be felt) and "Being Everyone" is more epic, with Floor's vocals being the highlight.
If "Attendance" brings a good duet between the vocalist and guitarist Sander, "Free Of Doubt" and "Face Your Demons" are heavy, great highlights for completely straying from what is expected of an After Forever CD, while "Strong" is soft and delicate. The flirtation with orchestrations has its greatest moment in "Forever", a strong track that closes an excellent CD.
The band had been consolidating its style, and "Invisible Circles" and the EP "Exordium" helped a lot in this process. The final result is seen in this sensational CD.
