The Cinematography of Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Cinematographer Brett Pawlak and Gaffer Jonathan Spencer bring a grounded, authentic visual language to "Spider-Man: Brand New Day".🕷️ They explored different approaches to camera and light, finding the right tools and techniques to keep the film feeling grounded and real. NANLUX Evoke 5000B and Evoke 2400B served as the sun, while Evoke 600C and Evoke 150C were used throughout the production. From lighting Spider-Man’s suit and the expansive backlot to shaping Peter’s apartment and creating the perspective inside Spider-Man’s mask, Brett Pawlak, Jonathan Spencer and the team experimented with different ways of shaping the image to serve each scene.
