Many people who have never really fished for Toman think that once you find the Toman fry and locate the Mama, all you need to do is cast your lure at her. But once you actually start chasing the fry, you’ll realize that Mama Toman fishing isn’t as simple as it seems. That day, we faced many of the challenges you’ll encounter when actually fishing for Toman: the fish not reacting to our lures, getting a reaction from the Mama but failing to hook her, the fry staying underwater for long periods, difficulty predicting where they would surface to breathe, as well as rising water levels and heavy vegetation. For a beginner trying Mama Toman fishing for the first time, these are situations that are difficult to imagine until you actually experience them. Besides letting him experience what Toman fishing is really like, I also took the opportunity to test the ULT Fishing 2 Second, an entry-level lure rod from a Malaysian brand, to see how it performs when actually fishing for Toman.
