What does a $12 grocery day in Iran actually look like—and what can I make with it? 🇮🇷 Hi everyone, I’m Bahare! 🤍 In today’s vlog, I’m taking you along for another day in my life in Iran. We start with grocery shopping, where I show you everyday products, compare prices, and give you a little look at what grocery shopping is like in Tehran. I spent around $12 / €10.41 on today’s shopping, and when I got home, I made one of my favorite homemade chicken sandwiches. 🥪 🥪 My Homemade Chicken Sandwich Ingredients: Chicken fillets Onion, thinly sliced Garlic powder Fresh garlic Black pepper Salt Saffron A little turmeric Paprika Bell pepper Butter Cooking oil Toast bread Cheddar cheese Parmesan cheese Pickles Tomato Instructions: First, I marinate the chicken fillets with thinly sliced onion, garlic powder, fresh garlic, black pepper, salt, saffron, and a little turmeric. I leave them in the refrigerator for about 2–3 hours so the flavors can really soak into the chicken. Then I take the chicken out and cut the fillets into very small pieces. I heat a little butter and oil in a pan and sauté the chicken until cooked and nicely browned. Then I add a little turmeric, salt, black pepper, and paprika for extra flavor. Next, I add the chopped bell peppers and sauté everything together until the peppers are tender and the flavors come together. For the sandwich, I use toast bread with cheddar and Parmesan cheese, then add pickles, fresh tomato, and the warm chicken mixture. Put everything together, slice it, and enjoy! 🥪🤍 This sandwich is filling and packed with protein, and even if you’re not usually a big fan of chicken, you might really love this version. 🤤 I hope this vlog feels like spending another little day in Iran with me.
