Maa Metakani Temple is situated in a forest near Ulunda, approximately 23 km distance from Sonepur city in the Subarnapur district. Maa Metakani is another incarnation of Maa Sureshwari. The main festivals of this temple are Chaitra Purnima and Dussehra, on which a large number of devotees come to worship the goddess and celebrate the festival. Maa Metakani is the direct goddess and fulfils all the desires of the devotees.  It is believed Maa appeared under a tamarind tree around 1733, and later, in 1991, the temple was built at that place.
