Andhra Panchayat Elections | Kotia on High Alert | BNS 163 Imposed, Heavy Police Deployment

Andhra Panchayat Elections | Kotia on High Alert | BNS 163 Imposed, Heavy Police Deployment Voting has begun for Andhra Pradesh's Panchayat elections, putting the Kotia region of Odisha's Koraput district on high alert. BNS Section 163 has been imposed in the area, prohibiting the gathering of more than four people at one place. Heavy police deployment has been made, while political leaders and administrative officials are keeping a close watch on the sensitive border region. Following strong opposition from Odisha government officials, political leaders and local residents, Andhra Pradesh authorities have withdrawn their proposal to establish a polling booth at Narediwalsa. The booth was intended for voters from Ganjeipadar, which is listed as Ganjeibhadra in Andhra Pradesh's official records. However, attention has now shifted to Sariki, an Andhra Pradesh panchayat headquarters located just two kilometres from Narediwalsa, where a polling booth has been established. The key question is whether voters from Ganjeipadar will cross the border to cast their votes at Sariki. Odisha officials are closely monitoring border movement and urging residents not to participate in elections conducted by Andhra Pradesh in areas falling under Odisha's Kotia Gram Panchayat. #Kotia #KotiaBorderDispute #AndhraPradeshElections #PanchayatElections #OdishaAndhraDispute #Koraput #BNS163 #KotiaNews #OdishaNews #AndhraPradesh #BorderTension #OdishaPolitics #ElectionUpdate #OdishaLatestNews #News18Odia Welcome to News18 Odia, your go-to destination for the latest news and updates from across India and beyond.
