Binance hack: Cyber expert explains how 'biggest ever' crypto heist unfolded

Investigators are pointing the finger at North Korea after hackers stole $6 billion (around £4.5 billion) in cryptocurrency in the largest heist of its kind. Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has insisted its users' funds are safe and said it would “cover all losses” from “the company’s funds” and an emergency assets fund following Thursday's hack. As of Thursday night in the US, a team of cryptocurrency firms had managed to freeze about $3 billion (£2.2 billion) of the stolen loot amid a frenetic battle with the hackers to find and control the digital money.
