Weight loss, more energy, a body detox: claims about quitting sugar can sound convincing. What actually changes when you cut back for thirty days? This patient-friendly video explains possible changes in liver fat, liver enzymes such as ALT, triglycerides, LDL cholesterol, insulin sensitivity, blood pressure, weight and teeth. It also examines claims about detoxing, disappearing cravings and a complete body reset. You do not need added sugar for nutrition. Reducing it does not require removing whole fruit, plain dairy or every carbohydrate. Your starting intake, total calories and replacement foods all affect the results. Thirty days can be a useful starting point, but it is not a deadline for guaranteed changes. The liver trial discussed lasted 12 weeks and studied adults with fatty liver. LDL responses depend on what replaces sugar; a 25-gram target is not a proven metabolic switch. Start with one change you can maintain, such as replacing a usual sugary drink with water or an unsweetened drink. General education, not personal medical advice. If you take insulin or medicines that can cause low blood sugar, discuss major dietary changes with your diabetes care team. Do not adjust medication on your own.
