Here are some highlights from the official launch of blood irradiation system at JCRC. It is the first of its kind in Uganda and the Sub Saharan Africa. Blood Irradiation is when a blood product is treated with X-ray OR Gamma radiation to destroy the lymphocytes contained in the blood product, which prevents their ability to proliferate or divide.
