සංඝ බේදය පිළිබද නිවැරදි විග්‍රහය - A Correct Analysis of Saṅgha Schism

පෘථග්ජන භික්ෂූවක් සංඝ ගණයට වැටෙන්නේ නැත, එහෙත් නොදන්නා කම නිසාත් සහ ලාභ සත්කාර හා වරප්‍රසාද ලබාගැනීමේ අරමුණිනුත් වර්තමාන පෘතග්ජන භික්ෂූන් සංඝ වශයෙන් සමාජයේ පෙනී සිටියි. එසේ කරන නයින්ම, ඔවුන් මූලික පාරාජිකා සීල හතරෙන් දෙකක්ම බිඳී පාරාජිකත්වයට පත්වේ. එසේ පාරාජික වූ භික්ෂුව, භික්ෂුත්වයෙන් පැරදුන සිව්රුක් පමණක් ඇඳගෙන සිටින සාමාන්‍ය අස්සෘතවත් පෘතග්ජනයකු පමණක් වේ. කෝට්ටේ යුගයේදී, විදේශ ආක්‍රමණ වල බලපෑම නිසා ලංකාවෙන් අතුරුදහන් වූ බුද්ධ සාසනය නැවත අප රටේ නිවැරැදිව ස්ථාපිත වී නොමැති බව පෙනේ. එනිසා සංඝායානාවක් කොට නිවැරැදි බුද්ධ සාසනය නැවත අප මව් බිමේ නිවැරැදිව පිහිටුවීමේ අවශ්‍යතාවයක් දැන් පැන නැගී ඇත. A puthujjana (one who has not entered the stream of enlightenment) monk does not truly fall under the category of the Sangha. Such individuals are merely ordinary, unenlightened monks and are not entitled to use the title of "Sangha" However, due to ignorance—and often with the aim of obtaining material benefits, offerings, and privileges—many puthujjana monks present themselves in society as legitimate members of the Sangha. In doing so, many violate two of the four fundamental Pārājikā rules, thereby becoming disqualified or "defeated" monks. A monk who commits a Pārājikā offense is no longer a true bhikkhu; he is merely a layperson wearing robes, without any valid monastic standing. During the Kotte period, the Buddha Sāsana vanished from Sri Lanka due to the influence of foreign invasions, and it was never authentically restored.
