Boise State Leads a VERY Different Pac-12 Power Ranking Following College Football Week 1

We finally got to see every Pac-12 football team in action. And my power rankings have changed A LOT. Boise State remains No. 1 after taking No. 2 Oregon all the way to the final drive as a massive underdog. I think the Broncos proved something even in a loss. They're still the best team in the Pac-12, and right now I think they're the best Group of 6 team in college football. San Diego State stays at No. 2 after beating Portland State, but the Aztecs have some things to clean up before a fascinating opportunity against UCLA. Then things get interesting. Washington State jumps to No. 3. The Cougars' offense has some MAJOR questions after the Apple Cup, but I came away extremely impressed with their defense. If Kirby Moore can get Caden Pinnock and this offense figured out, WSU's ceiling could be much higher than we thought. Oregon State makes the biggest jump. The Beavers go from the bottom of my preseason rankings all the way to No. 4 after Braden Atkinson showed exactly why JaMarcus Shephard was willing to make the difficult quarterback decision. And don't overlook Colorado State. Jim Mora's first game was an impressive Border War victory, Haase Haney threw five touchdowns, and the Rams might be one of the biggest surprises in the conference. Then we've got problems. Fresno State's offensive line and quarterback situation look even more concerning than I feared. Texas State's defense has a LONG way to go. And Utah State? After losing to Idaho State, I'm legitimately looking at the Aggies' schedule and wondering where the wins are coming from. These aren't standings. These rankings are based on one question: If I had to play these teams right now, which one would I least want to see on the other sideline? Week 1 gave us some answers.
