Hey everyone, AnguizDev here! It’s been some days since I just posted and disappeared lol. The last time I posted update 3 and there I described the next steps into the development including the main decision of processing the game logic 100% natively based on the decomp made by adonis-singh. And I’m very happy to tell you all that (till now) its being a success. Let me give you some numbers: When the game starts it does it around 8 to 10 fps due to the caching the game is doing (it gives that slowmo sensation the first seconds of the the game), but after a little while (close to the first crow kill) the game goes up to 18 to 22 fps and keeps there, sometimes interrupted by a little stutter here or there, then dropping to 12 o 15 fps when fighting 3 ganados at the same time. That’s around 100% improvement since update 3!!! Also if you look very closely you can see I’m still keeping many effects and thingys like the the feathers of the crows when shot, the halo of the items on the ground, the dust that blows from the floor when shot, the blood, the glass shards when Leon jumps from the window, the foliage, the bullet caskets falling from Leon’s gun or the flash effect from the gun and a render distance at 70% the original game!!! The cutscenes are the PS2 pre-rendered ones, and are running a little slow because I didn’t focus the optimization work that way because… I’ll try to do as many as I can using the original hardware like the GameCube did, actually, if you see closely, the one that runs when Leon is heading into the house is a real time cutscene! :) I have advancements on the ones from the prologue too but those aren’t showable right now (they will be soon, I promise) And the most important part… This is respecting Resident Evil 4 original logic with a nearly strict rule (just counting a couple of small approximations for far-away enemies), everytime I make logic optimizations, for even smaller than it is, I run those checks Besides from some graphic glitches this is actually a really step forward from the last update. And im really really happy for posting this showcase That’s all for now folks, i’ll keep working on fixing stability and graphic glitches, maybe do an update 4, and then the big matter of this part of the game: EL PUEBLO. There is still a long way to go, but that’s what makes this so fun to work on! Wish me luck guys (I think I’ll need It lol) PS: Did you see that option button that says “Language select” on the main menu? :) Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 1:09 Game starts 1:34 Leon vs. The first ganado 2:12 Leon vs. 3 ganados 3:12 Poor creature 3:34 Leon vs. Another ganado 4:04 Leon vs. 2 ganados
