The Santa Cruz River’s Hydraulic Rebirth

This short-form video tells the story of the successful efforts of community members in Southern Arizona to restore year round water to important areas of the Santa Cruz River. The river was previously dry along its course from Nogales to Eloy, Arizona. It was one of the few rivers in the world to flow from South to North. However, after the recent restoration of water along its 25 mile course, it now hosts rare endangered species of fish, birds, and toads. It is a positive example of what cooperation between communities, state and local governments, tribal nations, and civil society organizations can achieve to restore the environment.
