Visit the Temple of Heaven in Beijing on the morning of August 11.
Temple of Heaven, located in Dongcheng District of Beijing, was a place for the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties to pray for heaven, grain and rain. Temple of Heaven was built in the eighteenth year of Yongle (1420 AD), formerly known as "Temple of Heaven", in the ninth year of Jiajing (1530 AD) in the northern suburbs of Beijing to build another altar of worship to the earth God, and renamed "Temple of Heaven".
Covering an area of about 2.73 million square meters, the Temple of Heaven is four times the area of the Forbidden City, and it is the largest and highest ethical sacrificial complex in ancient China.
