When You Can’t See | John 9:1–17

What do you do when you can’t see why something is happening—or how God is going to work through it? In John 9, Jesus encounters a man who has been blind from birth. While the disciples are focused on trying to understand the reason for his suffering, Jesus shifts their attention toward what God is doing in the present. Through this encounter, we are reminded that faith doesn’t require us to see everything clearly. When we can’t see why, God is still at work. When we can’t see how, we can trust what Jesus has said. And when Jesus brings something into the light, we have to be willing to see it. Jesus says, “I am the light of the world.” Our confidence isn't in our ability to understand everything. Our confidence is in the One who is the Light. John 9:1–17
