Deep in the forest, I built a primitive shelter inspired by the way people may have lived thousands of years ago. This project took approximately four months to complete, working on it whenever I could return to the forest.
I started by driving six wooden posts into the ground and connecting them to form the walls, leaving an opening for the entrance. Next, I built the roof frame and filled the gaps with smaller logs and branches, leaving an opening in the center for the fire.
I made a wooden door, filled the gaps in the walls with a mixture of clay-rich mud and straw, and covered the roof with a tarp. Then I added another layer of mud and straw, finishing the roof with natural moss.
The most distinctive feature of this shelter is the central fire area, with an opening above it. After months of work, I finally completed the shelter and lit my first fire inside. The atmosphere was incredible.
This video brings the entire building process together, from the first wooden posts to the finished shelter. Every stage took time, patience, and hard work, and I’m happy to share the whole journey with you.
🌲 No talking, just the building process and the atmosphere of the forest.
