I tear down a lot of these engines. Like, a lot. I must have torn open a couple dozen of them in the last six months. And never in all my years of Chrysler buffoonery have I opened up a bone stock, verifiably original engine and found what I found inside this one... Nothing. It's just fine. Sure, the seals are all a bit crispy, and sure, it's got some sludge here or there. But the condition of this engine truly surprised me in a way that has not been normal in these pursuits. So today, instead of crawling through nightmare debris and diagnosing incredible failures, we're just going to clean some stuff, reassemble this 318 V8 in the cheapest way possible, and give it a bit of the old rattle can restoration.
