Jesus Told Them to WAIT. Here's Why. | Acts 1

Jesus had risen from the dead. The disciples had seen Him alive. They were ready to move forward. But Jesus gave them one instruction: WAIT. Why would Jesus tell His followers to wait when there was an entire world that needed to hear the gospel? We're beginning a brand-new journey through the book of Acts, and chapter one raises some questions that are just as important for us today. In this episode of Simple Discipleship, Andy Price, Sam Moulins, and Mike Forbes welcome special guest Kip Potter, founder of One30 Ministries. We talk about the ascension of Jesus, the promise of the Holy Spirit, the disciples' decision to replace Judas, and what happens when we try to do God's work without waiting for His direction. Kip also shares how a single encounter with a child in Uganda grew into a ministry reaching 1,700 children, and why real discipleship must go beyond simply sharing the gospel. Here's the question we wrestle with: Are we trying to do things for God that He wants to do through us? We're slowing down for this series, reading one chapter each week and sharing what God teaches us along the way. Join us! Read Acts chapter 2 every day this coming week. Spend time praying, listen to the Holy Spirit, and come back ready to discover what God is teaching us together.
