I was thinking about the phrase "give me time" while I was driving home from another job interview last week. There are countless reasons why any of us might say it. Someone hurt us. We're trying to solve a problem. We're overwhelmed. We're interviewing other candidates. We need a vacation. We're not ready for that next step. We want to see if there's a better option. Sometimes life simply becomes too much. And the list goes on. I wanted to explore that idea a little and tinkered with the phrase over and over. Honestly, I wrote numerous other verses for this song where I tackled different meanings of "give me time" in different ways. But I wanted the chorus to stay the same each time.
