ABOUT THE SPEAKER Karl Stanley has been exploring the depths of the ocean down to half a mile deep, logging over 5000 hours in two submersibles that he built himself. His journey started with a dream when he was 9 and he started construction on his first deep sea submersible at the age of 15 in his parents' backyard in New Jersey. He has spent over 5000 hours exploring the deep ocean and now operates the deepest sub in the world regularly offering trips to the public.
