Equestrian.com Hickstead Derby 2015 | Full Class

Relive every round of the 55th Hickstead Derby, jumped in the International Arena at the All England Jumping Course on Sunday 28 June 2015. Since it was first held in 1961, the Derby has tested the very best horses and riders over the 10ft 6in Derby Bank, the notorious Devil’s Dyke and one of the widest water jumps in the sport. Thirty-seven horses started, and only one went clear. Ireland’s Trevor Breen was seventh to go on Patricia Brown’s 16-year-old Loughnatousa WB, and no one could match their round. It was only the 57th clear round in the history of the Derby. The win made it back-to-back titles for Trevor, who had won in 2014 on Adventure De Kannan. It was also a second Derby for “WB”, who won in 2012 with Paul Beecher, making him the only horse to win the Derby with two different riders. Trevor also rode Adventure De Kannan, who finished on eight faults. With no jump-off needed, several riders shared second place on four faults, including Billy Twomey with Diaghilev and Steven Franks with Carlow Cruiser.
