Bosch GDR 14.4V-li + Milwaukee 2753 = Crazy Battery Swap! | Impact Driver Restoration

In this video, I restored a broken Bosch GDR 14.4V-li impact driver. The original casing had a cracked and missing bottom section, and the front head was also missing some parts. Wires were exposed at the bottom, but the tool still powered on. I completely disassembled and cleaned the driver, sandblasted the aluminum housing, and gave it a fresh coat of paint. The motor looked fine apart from some surface rust, which I removed with a wire brush before repainting. The highlight of this restoration is the custom casing mod. I had a spare Milwaukee 2753 housing – so I cut the bottom part off and grafted it onto the Bosch shell. This means the tool now accepts Milwaukee M18 batteries! I also added the necessary resistors to ensure proper discharge protection. A quick note on voltage: The Bosch GDR is originally 14.4V, but I’m using 18V Milwaukee batteries. Don’t worry – many Bosch 14V and 18V tools share the same motor platform. The result? Stronger performance with no issues. In the end, the tool works perfectly with great power.
