A great transitional sound from Los Angeles. Leonard Wayne, whose real name was Leonard Bunn, had previously sung with The Tantones on Lamp. The record was released three times: presumably first as Leonard Wayne and The Impacts on Andre 701, then as Leonard Wayne and The Hi-Tones, also on Andre 701, and finally as Lenny Wayne and The Hi-Tones on Sky Line 701. The record’s co-producer, Miles Grayson, had a long association with the Los Angeles R&B and vocal-group scene. Transferred from an original 45 rpm in my collection.
