YouTube's 8,000 Hour Rule: The Math Nobody Shows You | yt luck
My two videos got just 45 minutes of watch time in a whole month. YouTube now asks new channels for 8,000 hours. In this video I show my real analytics and the daily math behind the 8,000 hour rule, plus the one number that changes the whole game.
Starting 1 February 2027, new creators applying for the YouTube Partner Program need 1,000 subscribers with 8,000 public watch hours in 365 days, or 20 million Shorts views in 90 days. Creators already in the Partner Program keep their status.
In this video you will learn:
The real daily math for 8,000 watch hours (and why it is about 22 hours every single day)
How average view duration decides how many views you actually need (165 views a day vs 1,980 views a day for the same target)
The 3 paths: Sprint (old 4,000 hour rule), Steady (8,000 hours) and the first level (500 subscribers + 3,000 hours)
