Knockhill delivered a dramatic triple-header in the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, with three different winners from three different teams across Rounds 16, 17 and 18, but it was Cataclean Plato Racing’s breakthrough weekend that stole the headlines. Adam Morgan set the tone by taking pole position before winning Saturday afternoon’s Race to Pole contest, and he carried that momentum into Sunday by securing the team’s first-ever BTCC victory in Round 16. The celebrations were made even sweeter as teammate Dan Rowbottom followed him home to complete a historic one-two, with Team Principal and BTCC legend Jason Plato watching on. Morgan went on to claim another podium in Round 18, capping off the team’s strongest weekend of the season, while championship leader Ash Sutton took victory in Round 17 for NAPA Racing UK and Tom Chilton returned to the top step of the podium in the final race for Team VERTU. Sutton’s win further strengthened his position at the top of the championship as he continues his pursuit of a potential record-breaking fifth overall Drivers’ title. The four-time champion now holds an 81-point advantage over Tom Ingram, while Dan Cammish closed to within 13 points of Ingram in the battle for second. NAPA Racing UK and Alliance Racing/Ford also maintained their commanding lead in the Manufacturers’/Constructors’ and Teams’ standings, while Mikey Doble and LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing continued to lead the Independents’ honours. There was plenty to celebrate for Dexter Patterson too, with the local driver enjoying a standout weekend at Knockhill and extending his advantage over James Dorlin in the Jack Sears Trophy standings. With the championship battle heating up, the BTCC now heads to Donington Park on 22/23 August for the next triple-header.
