Driving Newport to Louisburgh 🇮🇪 | A Scenic Journey Through County Mayo

Join me on EarthOnTheMove as we drive from Newport to Louisburgh through the beautiful landscapes of County Mayo on Ireland’s west coast. Along the way, we travel through Westport before continuing towards Murrisk and Lecanvey, with changing Irish weather, countryside, coastal scenery and a few brief glimpses of Croagh Patrick along the way. We also pass the main entrance to Croagh Patrick in Murrisk, although the mountain wasn’t quite ready to give us the clear view we were hoping for on this particular journey. That’s one place we’ll have to return to and explore properly another day. Eventually, we make our way into Louisburgh, a small Mayo town surrounded by some of the beautiful landscapes that make this part of Ireland such an interesting place to explore. For me, journeys like this aren’t only about the destination. Sometimes the roads, villages and unexpected moments along the way are just as much a part of the experience.
