Canal Sugar is the largest private integrated agro-industrial project since 1950. Through this project, Canal Sugar aims to reclaim and cultivate the largest-scale desert land of 181,000 feddans (76,000 hectares/189,000 acres). Additionally, Canal Sugar has the largest sugar beet processing factory that is built on an area of 240 feddans (100 hectares/247 acres). The Project will capitalize on full automation, mechanization and precision farming to grow field crops and guarantee feedstock of sugar beet at double the nationwide average yields. The process initiates from the reclamation of the lands and establishing the factory that is purposed for premium white sugar production. ‎يقع مشروع القناة للسكر في محافظة المنيا وهو المشروع هو الأكبر في العالم من حيث إنتاج السكر الأبيض من بنجر السكر، إذ يشتمل المشروع على مساحة ضخمة من الأراضي الصحراوية تبلغ 181 ألف فدان (76,000 هكتار)، بالإضافة إلى مصنع تصنيع السكر الأبيض من بنجر السكر وهو مقام على مساحة 240 فدان (100 هكتار / 247 أكر). ‎وتستهدف شركة القناة للسكر أن تسد الفجوة بين انتاج السكر الأبيض مقابل استهلاكه في مصر، هذا وسيتم زراعة 120 ألف فدان (126,000 هكتار ) تحت الري المحوري وسيكونوا مخصصين لزراعة بنجر السكر ومحاصيل استراتيجية أخرى من بينها الذرة، والقمح والحمص وغيرهم. Canal Sugar incorporates largest-scale desert land of 181,000 feddans (76,000 hectares/189,000 acres). In addition to a sugar beet processing factory that is built on an area of 240 feddans (100 hectares/247 acres). Canal Sugar aims to fill the gap between production versus consumption of sugar in Egypt. Under pivot irrigation, 120,000 feddans (126,000 acres/50,000 hectares) are allocated for the cultivation of Sugar beet and major field crops including Maize, Wheat, Chickpeas and others.
