orbit - Sunset Live Session, Los Angeles (Full Set)

When i arrived in LA, i had two days before the tour started. two days to work through all my to-dos the kind of things i’ve somehow gotten used to filling every free moment with. On the day I landed, someone named Will messaged me on instagram and asked if I wanted to watch the sunset with him and his friends Rob and Madeline that same evening. In my usual work mode, i was about to say no. The habit of staying on my track was too strong. But there was some kind of intuition in that moment telling me to meet these strangers instead of following what i thought was “reasonable". So we met, sunset, Venice Beach. We connected instantly, you know that feeling when it seems like you’ve known each other much longer than you actually have. And then one thing led to another: the idea of hiking in the Topanga Hills the next day and playing a show there, hours of brainstorming, endless calls in Madeline’s living room. Within 24 hours, Will, Rob, Madeline, J.P. and I created something i would’ve never thought possible. 24 hours after that gut decision, i was standing on a mountain above LA with around 50 beautiful people, playing a set while the sun was going down. And when i finished, this huge red moon rose from behind the mountains. We all just sat there, speechless, knowing that we would share and remember this moment forever. And there it was again that feeling of connection and meaning. The feeling that I had when my friends and I did our first DIY tour in 2021. Far away from any measurable success, far away from music industry. A feeling, so clear and undeniable that nothing in the world could convince me otherwise.  A feeling that can easily get lost in this fast-moving world where we chase goals and success. And to be honest, at times i had forgotten that this feeling is the only thing i ever really wanted from putting out my music. But it was always there waiting to be experienced.
