Marlena (Deidre Hall), worried that Hope (Kristian Alfonso) is slipping back into her Princess Gina (Kristian Alfonso) persona, interrupts an intense conversation between John (Drake Hogestyn) and Hope. John assures Marlena everything is all right, but Hope is on to them. She knows they are keeping something from her about her past, and she wants to know what it is. Roman (Josh Taylor) is totally caught off guard when Abe (James Reynolds) tells him he may retire from the force and is thinking of recommending Roman for police commander. Abe tells Roman about his recent brush with Larry Morris, saying he will never be able to forget what happened fourteen years ago, and that this chance meeting feels like a sign to hang up his badge. Sami (Alison Sweeney) notices that Larry isn’t his usual chipper self and asks what is bothering him. Larry opens up, saying he bumped into the man responsible for putting him in the wheelchair. When he reveals it is Abe, Sami nearly hits the roof. Meanwhile, Brandon (Matt Cedeño) calls Benny (Javier Grajeda) and fills him in on Abe and Larry’s first encounter in years. Benny sees dollar signs and thinks it is time to file the lawsuit, but an angry Brandon says he is calling the shots and wants Abe totally vulnerable before they move ahead legally. It is going to be a slow torture for Commander Carver. Later, Brandon is there for Lexie (Renée Jones), who is an emotional wreck. Craig (Kevin Spirtas), Nancy (Patrika Darbo), and Albert (Dion Anderson) head to Craig’s office for some privacy, because Nancy has something important to tell him. Little do they know, Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) is listening at the door. Hoping to stop Nancy, Chloe bursts in and announces she has decided to stay in Salem. Nancy is thrilled, and Chloe hugs her and says now they can keep the secret. But Nancy thinks it is about time Craig knew the truth, and she drops the bomb: she is Chloe’s mother.
