🌧️ Cubion | Farm Visit | Hanson Racing

Headed out to the farm this morning to check in on our filly Cubion after a rough week of Southern California weather — thunderstorms, hail, the whole package. Grounds were in great shape and all the horses came through just fine. But here’s what really stood out today. Cubion has been timid since day one. Cautious. Reserved. Taking her time warming up to new people and new surroundings. That’s been her pattern every visit. Not today. She was standing at the gate waiting for us. The moment we walked over, her nose went into overdrive — working the air, taking us in, recognizing us. She has become more and more accustomed to my scent with every visit, and today she greeted us like an old friend. Head out of the stall, engaged, curious, present. That is not a small thing. That is a filly who is beginning to trust. Then I introduced her to the other four-legged member of our crew — Bennie, my Rhodesian Ridgeback. He has never been next to an animal this big in his life. Cubion? She took to him immediately. A full meet and greet, and both of them handled it beautifully. The boys eventually showed up and got her ready for her morning training session. She’s still working through long rein sessions with long walks around the farm — and there is no shortage of things to encounter out there. Tables, rocks, dirt piles, fencing, uneven ground. She takes it all in stride, calm and willing, responding to every command from her handlers. We followed them around the farm and watched the team do their thing. The horsemanship here is patient, deliberate, and genuine. You can see it in how she responds — no resistance, no anxiety. Just a filly learning to trust the process. She closed out the session with a cool bath and a walk to dry off. She is coming along beautifully. Not quite ready to be ridden yet — but every day, we get a little closer. Stay tuned. This gal is looking to be something pretty special. 🏇 👇 LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and come along for the ride. 📺 Tothewhip Racing LLC | Real ownership. Real stories. No filter.
