Dave’s Toy Shop | Late Night with David Letterman (NBC, 1990) | Roger White

A look back at Dave’s Toy Shop, a comedy segment from Late Night with David Letterman on NBC in 1990. I’m Roger White, and I worked as a graphic artist on the show, illustrating the wonderfully ridiculous toys featured in this segment. One memorable example was My First Toupee, a perfect taste of the offbeat humor that made working on Letterman so much fun. Looking back, I’m reminded of the creativity and irreverence that made Late Night such a unique place to work. Coming up with visuals for these absurd comedy bits was a great opportunity to combine illustration, humor, and a little late-night mischief. A nostalgic look back at my graphic art and illustration work behind the scenes at Late Night with David Letterman in 1990. https://rogerwhite.com #RogerWhite #DavidLetterman #DavesToyShop #MyFirstToupee #LateNight #NBC #GraphicArtist #TelevisionHistory
