Love the Fire Can’t Burn

I wrote this song, Love the Fire Can’t Burn, not to replay the cruelty of what happened, but because I do not want this mother and her babies to simply be forgotten by the world. She was once just an ordinary mother. She gave birth to four babies, nursed them, and watched them sleep safely beside her. She did not ask for much—she only wanted her children to grow up healthy and unharmed. One of her babies had already been taken away and therefore survived. The other three, together with their mother, never made it through that terrible day. Even in her final moments, she stayed beside her babies and tried to protect them. Fire may destroy the body, but it can never burn away a mother’s love. I did not write this song to spread hatred. I only hope that more people will remember: Animals may not be able to speak, but they feel pain, fear and love. Choosing not to harm them is the most basic standard of humanity. May every life be treated with kindness.
