Merc 650 Outboard Internal Wiring Harness Rebuild

This video covers the internal harness rebuild on my 68 merc 650. This procedure will work on all internal wiring harnesses, though these particular sized wires pertain to older Mercury outboards. Be sure that your wire is properly sized for your application. If wires are too small they will overheat as they need to be sized correctly to prevent melting and catching on fire. Also make sure that you are using marine grade tinned copper wire. Regular automotive wire will not hold up long term in water environments.
