Witness a significant spiritual moment in the history of Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) as His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, presides over the groundbreaking ceremony of Jampal Gyepai Dangden, a sacred Stupa dedicated to Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom. Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, the Royal Patron of the project, also graced the auspicious ceremony. The name Jampal Gyepai Dangden translates to "The Radiant, Joyful Smile of Manjushri," symbolising wisdom, peace and blessings for all sentient beings. The project also commemorates the centuries-old spiritual connection between the Karma Kagyu tradition and Mount Wutai in China, the sacred abode of Manjushri, dating back to the pilgrimage of the 5th Karmapa, Deshin Shegpa, in 1408. The ceremony was part of the growing spiritual vision of Gelephu Mindfulness City, which is envisioned by His Majesty The King as an important centre for Vajrayana Buddhism and a Buddhist City. Gyalwang Karmapa Bestows Longevity Blessings on Devotees During his visit to Bhutan, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa also bestowed longevity blessings upon tens of thousands of devotees at Tendrelthang in Gelephu Mindfulness City. The spiritual gathering, held in the auspicious presence of the 108 Jangchub Chortens along the Mau Chhu River, brought together devotees from across Bhutan and beyond in an atmosphere of faith, devotion and spirituality. His Holiness arrived in Bhutan on 30 October to participate in Project 108, a major spiritual initiative involving the consecration of 108 Jangchub Chortens.
