Bringing a classic feel to a modern Madrid home with Mireia Semis | Corston Architectural Detail

Interior designer Mireia Semis was charged with bringing a traditional interior scheme to this Madrid house, designed by the famous modernist architect Rafael de La-Hoz. ‘The house is an absolutely contemporary design, with pure lines, exposed concrete, large windows, and a visual language that’s forceful,’ she explains. ‘We didn't want to erase that architecture, but rather to integrate it into a project that's much more classic inside. That's been the big challenge.’ Many people taking on such a distinctive property might look to accentuate the architecture, but the owners here had a different vision.
