Project Zomboid in 3D with Project Viewpoint, OldPoint, Minecraft shaders and DLSS 5 Neural Rendering. After sharing an in-game screenshot yesterday
I showcase interiors, streets and a rotating overhead view using Photon and Solas shaders, combined with the unofficial RenoDX DLSS 5 add-on and DLSS5-Feeder setup.
⚠️ WHAT TO EXPECT
This is an unofficial community setup. Project Zomboid does not have native DLSS support.
I tested it on an RTX 5070 and can only speak for my own hardware. Results include ghosting, a substantial FPS drop above two neural rendering passes, RAM usage exceeding 32GB and GPU memory errors. This showcase does not establish that a full playthrough with high zombie populations would run well.
HOW I SET THIS UP (unofficial, use at your own risk)
REQUIREMENTS
Project Zomboid Build 42.21 on Steam, Windows
NVIDIA RTX 50 series (I can only vouch for my RTX 5070) and driver 616.56 or newer
This costs frame rate. It is not an FPS boost.
PART 1: THE LOOK (Workshop mods and shaders)
1. Subscribe to ZombieBuddy and follow its Workshop page for its one-time setup:
https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/f...
2. Subscribe to Project Viewpoint:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
3. Subscribe to OldPoint (rotating overhead camera):
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
4. Enable all three in the Mods menu. Load order: ZombieBuddy, Viewpoint, then OldPoint.
5. Shader packs go in %UserProfile%\Zomboid\viewpoint-shaderpacks, then pick one in Viewpoint's settings. I used Photon and Solas: Available on Curseforge
PART 2: DLSS 5 NEURAL RENDERING
Tool: DLSS5-Feeder (only download from this page, there are fake copies around):

That's the link you need. After that, It's up to you to do your research and decide whether you want to try it. I've made the decision not to offer help on the install itself this time around because last time it turned into a full time job, and people just wanted to ignore the guide and for me to install it for them. Also, It requires running a powershell script that I take no responsibility for.
Let me know your results in the comments If you get it working
WARNINGS
Unofficial community setup, not an NVIDIA or Project Zomboid feature.
The installer downloads the neural add-on and two NVIDIA files from a third-party GitHub mirror and does not check them against a known hash. Scan them if unsure.
Motion is estimated, so expect some ghosting. High RAM and VRAM use.
Singleplayer only. I have not tested multiplayer.

💻 MY PC
