After Surviving This Ride, I Couldn't Continue My Journey - EP:17

After spending the night in Phasti Valley, I woke up to freezing weather after heavy rain continued throughout the night. My host kindly brought breakfast from his home, and after thanking him for his hospitality, I started my return journey. Before I had even reached halfway, another spell of heavy rain began. The muddy mountain track became extremely slippery, and after several close calls, I finally managed to reach Pret and then Maroi safely. My original plan was to continue towards Owir Valley, but the local people strongly advised me not to go because the weather was getting worse and the road conditions were becoming increasingly dangerous. Taking their advice seriously, I changed my plan and headed towards Mastuj and Broghal instead. However, after reaching Upper Chitral, I learned that Section 144 had been imposed for the next three days due to the arrival of Imam Shah Rahim of the Ismaili community. Hotels were being vacated, and with Broghal becoming deserted and Eid approaching, I decided it was best to return to Chitral. From there, I crossed the Lowari Tunnel and made my way back to Ushairi Valley, where I stayed with my friend Samiullah Bhai.
