While superiors transmit high-priority directives and frontline requests via onboard teleprinters, the execution rests entirely on the operator. Successful operations depend on analyzing intelligence reports, adjusting physical markers on tactical maps, and analyzing post-strike reconnaissance imagery to confirm the destruction. Calculating target coordinates demands manual input through mechanical computers, precise adjustments to propellant charges, and careful elevation tuning. Operators can load specialized ammunition to handle specific threats: High-Explosive rounds breach fortifications, smoke screens mask friendly maneuvers, and chemical agents eliminate targets without leaving witnesses. Navigating the massive structure of the iron battery requires patience, as rotating the main turret is a heavy, time-consuming process that leaves room for secondary tasks around the control desk. Once targeted, triggering the battery unleashes massive firepower across the horizon, permanently altering the terrain and resetting the cycle as the next set of orders arrives.
