This webinar provides an introduction to untargeted metabolomics using advanced GC-MS approaches, with a focus on GC×GC-TOFMS technologies, analytical workflows, and data processing strategies. Hosted by the South African National Metabolomics Platform (NMP), DIPLOMICS, LECO, and Metabolomics South Africa (MSA), the session features expert presentations covering the value of multidimensional GC-MS in metabolomics, development of extraction and analysis techniques, and accessible non-targeted workflows for metabolite identification. Presentations include: • Seeing More of the Metabolome: Why does GC×GC-TOFMS Matter for Untargeted Metabolomics? – Dr Christina Kannigadu (LECO Africa) • The development of extraction and analysis techniques for the quantification of pesticides and pesticide metabolites in human urine and blood – Dr Laura Quinn (National Metrology Institute of South Africa) • Accessible Non-Targeted GC–MS Workflows: From Data Processing to Identification – Dr Jarmo Kalinski (Rhodes University) Session chaired by Proffs Ilse du Preez, Aurelia Williams and Laneke Luies (North-West University). Recorded on 12 June 2026.
