The N712 Billion Renovation of Lagos Murtala Muhammed International Airport Will Blow Your Mind

In July 2025, the Federal Executive Council, approved a sweeping ₦712.26 billion rehabilitation and modernization of Terminal 1 at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos oldest international terminal, built in 1979. They also made mention of the lagos redline station to be later connected to Ikeja The project, contracted to China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, involves stripping the terminal to its structural frame and rebuilding it with new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure, alongside expansion works on Terminal Two, apron areas, access roads, and bridges.
