Cavan Burren Geo-Park: a brief journey

Cavan Burren Park is a mythical, spiritual landscape of monuments, megalithic tombs, hut sites and pre-bog walls all of which survive from pre-historic times and are located within metres of each other. The Gaelic word ‘Boireann’ means ‘a stony place’. The Park offers stunning views of Cuilcagh Mountain, West Cavan and the greater Global Geopark. A brand new visitor centre interpreting the story of life in Cavan Burren Park opened on the 9th May 2014. What will you find there?
