They Laughed at His $310 Blind Donkey — Until Two Coyotes Attacked His Newborn Lambs

In 1992, a struggling Wyoming rancher named Daniel Arriaga had already lost 23 lambs to coyotes. With his ranch slipping toward financial ruin, he spent his last $310 on two unwanted American Mammoth Jackstock donkeys at a livestock auction. One of them was Hattie, an aging gray donkey who could barely see. The entire auction barn laughed. His neighbors called him a fool. Even the bank began questioning whether he deserved to keep his grandfather's ranch. But Daniel was hiding a secret of his own. And somehow, that blind old donkey understood a world he was terrified to face. Then, on a moonless night in April 1993, two hungry coyotes attacked his newborn lambs. What happened at 2:17 a.m. would change everything — including the mind of the man who had mocked them the most. A powerful, emotional fictional Western story about an unlikely animal hero, a rancher's hidden struggle, and the extraordinary bond between a man and the animals everyone else had given up on. Sometimes, the ones the world calls useless are the ones who teach us what real courage looks like. Watch until the end for a moment you won't forget.
