Before power, there must be humility. Before the fire speaks, before the wind reveals a name, before the spirits entrust someone with their voice… there must be a first kneeling. “The First Kneeling” opens a new path for The Shamanic Scream. It is the first of eight ancient vows: a Progressive Folk Rock ritual about surrendering pride without surrendering strength. The shaman does not kneel because he is weak. He kneels because no one can protect what they believe lies beneath them. The mountain never claims the sky. The forest never asks to be praised. The Earth carries every king—and eventually covers every crown with green. True power does not begin when we rise above nature. It begins when we remember that we never stood above her. LYRICS: [Verse 1] Before I ask the flame to speak, Before I climb the sacred peak, Before the wind reveals my name, I place my pride beneath the rain. [Verse 2] I came in search of hidden signs, Of ancient songs and higher skies, But every root beneath my feet Was holding truths I could not reach. [Pre-Chorus] No voice descended from above. No thunder answered what I sought. The oldest wisdom waited still Beneath the weight of every thought. [Chorus] I kneel before the living ground, Not as a slave, but as a son. No crown can teach me what I found: The earth below and I are one. I bow before the roots and stone. I leave the throne I never owned. Before the spirits speak through me, I kneel to rise— I kneel to see. [Verse 3] The mountain never claims the sky. The forest grows, but asks not why. The river does not praise its name, Yet carves the stone and shapes the plain. [Verse 4] What power lives within the seed That breaks itself to set life free? What strength is hidden in the tree That bends beneath what none can see? [Pre-Chorus] The earth has carried every king, Then covered every crown with green. No human hand can own the ground That waits beneath all we have been. [Chorus] I kneel before the living ground, Not as a slave, but as a son. No crown can teach me what I found: The earth below and I are one. I bow before the roots and stone. I leave the throne I never owned. Before the spirits speak through me, I kneel to rise— I kneel to see. [Spoken Vow] I will not stand above the earth and call myself her guardian. I will not take her ancient fire and name its power mine. Let my knees remember what my pride forgets: No one can protect what they believe lies beneath them. [Bridge] Break the throne inside my mind. Leave its empty crown behind. Let the soil receive my weight. Let humility open the gate. Break the throne inside my mind. Root my breath in what is kind. If I rise, then let it be Not above— but with the trees. [Final Chorus] I kneel before the living ground, Not as a slave, but as a son. No crown can teach me what I found: The earth below and I are one. The earth below and I are one. I bow before the roots and stone. I leave the throne I never owned. Before the spirits speak through me, I kneel to rise— I kneel to see. [Choir] I kneel to rise. I kneel to see. The earth below is part of me. I kneel to rise. I kneel to see. No one stands above the tree. [Final] Before the fire... Before the name... Before the power... I touch the ground. I came here asking to receive. The earth asked only that I kneel. Before the fire... Before the name... Before the power... Before the fire... Before the name... Before the power... I touch the ground. I came here asking to receive. The earth asked only that I kneel. If this ritual spoke to something beneath your pride, subscribe to The Shamanic Scream and continue walking through The Shaman’s Vows. Eight ancient vows.
