Eric revisits his favorite mame tray (as seen in "One Mame Trick to Rule Them All" and "Mame Tricks: Repotting and Rebuilding a Mame Tray" https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list.... After he cut off all the escape roots from the mame in the tray, a late fall heat wave dried out some of the trees. A few of his favorites died (RIP) and a few more got really stressed out and needed extra love and repotting. It's always a kick to watch Eric's big fingers finesse these mini-bonsai!
00:01:32 Cleaning up the tray and prepping it for new trees. Work begins with a Maple.
00:02:26 Getting a "little gumdrop" volunteer Cypress under control.
00:03:15 Taking the tray apart, starting with one of Eric's favorite mame that's over ten years old.
00:04:10 Gently repotting.
00:05:08 Cotoneaster in recovery; repotting into a slightly bigger container (check out those roots!)
00:06:32 Eric shares a soil tip for potting mame.
00:07:48 Tiny little Pine report. Notice how much of the root ball Eric trims away.
00:09:22 Close-up of mame pot prep, and a tiny soil scoop!
00:10:53 Wiring the tiny pine.
00:12:15 Little teeny Kishu Juniper, trying to make the crown compact and repotting.
00:14:10 Evaluating a new pot before putting the Kishu back into its original mame pot.
00:15:17 Two super-cute olives, cutting back but not repotting.
00:16:08 Itoigawa Juniper from a cutting with lots of cool movement...that requires patience to remove from its tiny pot!
00:17:55 Evaluating multiple pots before Eric selects one of his own mame pots! (Check out Eric's pottery: https://www.bonsaify.com/collections/...)
00:19:12 Wiring to condense the trunk and add more movement, and some trimming.
00:20:11 Reassembling the tray.
