THIS CHANT FEELS LIKE THE SAINTS PRAYING BESIDE YOU | Gregorian Chants for All Saints Day
You are not alone in your prayer. On the Feast of All Saints the Church remembers that heaven is close: the Saints, our elder brothers and sisters, already see the face of the Father, and they pray for us who are still on the way.
These original sacred chants are sung in Latin by a choir of women's voices, slow and unhurried like the office of a monastery, with only a distant organ or low strings coming in now and then. Long antiphons, psalms and quiet responses sing the name we received at the font of baptism, "I have called you by your name, you are mine"; the holy patron who bore that name before us and now guards it; the names written in heaven; the incense of the prayers of the Saints rising before God; the great cloud of witnesses who surround us as we run with patience; the Saints who wept and hoped as we do and stay near us in every trial; and the old prayer of the Church, "Come to our aid, Saints of God", for the last hour.
The Saints do not give grace: God alone gives it. But He gladly hears the prayers of His friends, and the prayer of the righteous has great power. Saint Monica who wept for her son, Saint Joseph who knew hard work, Saint Peter who wept bitterly, Saint Rita who suffered much: they know our road, because they walked it before us.
Let these chants accompany your prayer before the feast, a novena to your patron saint, a quiet evening of silence, or the first minutes of a deep and peaceful sleep.
Bring your name and the name of your patron.
Bring the names of your children and of those you love.
Bring your trial, and the prayer you can no longer say.
Bring your heart, and let the Saints pray with you.
Perfect for:
Prayer for the Feast of All Saints
Prayer to your patron saint
Intercession in difficult times
Meditation and contemplation
Sleep and deep relaxation
Catholic reflection and worship
May your holy patron watch over you, and may all the Saints of God pray for you and for those you love. Amen.
If this prayer touched your soul, write the name of your patron saint and "pray for us" in the comments, and share this chant with someone who needs to know that they are not alone today.

FINAL PRAYER:
Lord God, You called each of us by name on the day of our baptism, and You gave us the Saints as brothers and sisters who pray for us. Hear the prayers they offer for us before Your throne. Through the intercession of our holy patrons, whose names we bear, keep us faithful on Your way. Saints of God, you who wept and hoped as we do, stay near us in our trials, in sickness, in work and in sorrow, and pray for us, that we may never lose heart. And in the last hour, come to meet us and lead us into the house of the Father. Holy Mary and all the Saints, pray for us. Amen.
LYRICS:
“Oráte pro Nobis, Omnes Sancti – Supplicátio Fratrum”
(Antiphona)
Sancti Dei, fratres nostri in caelo,
qui iam vidétis fáciem Patris,
oráte pro nobis
qui adhuc in via laborámus.
(Psalmus)
Ad te levávi óculos meos,
qui hábitas in caelis;
sicut óculi servórum in mánibus dominórum suórum,
ita óculi nostri ad Dóminum Deum nostrum.
(Versus)
Omnes sancti Patróni nostri — oráte pro nobis.
Omnes Sancti, quorum nómina portámus — oráte pro nobis.
Omnes Sancti, qui nos amátis — intercédite pro nobis.
(Meditatio)
Non estis longe a nobis,
sed in Christo nobis propínqui;
unum corpus sumus,
et membra pro membris sollícita.
(Hymnus)
Quod vobis in terra deérat,
nunc in Deo plene habétis;
et quod nobis hódie deest,
vos pro nobis a Patre pétite.
(Oratio)
Deus, a quo bona cuncta procédunt,
exáudi preces Sanctórum tuórum pro nobis,
et quod nostra mérita non óbtinent,
eórum nobis intercessióne donétur.
(Doxologia)
Glória Patri, qui preces súscipit,
glória Fílio, mediatóri nostro,
glória Spirítui Sancto,
sicut erat in princípio, et nunc et semper.
(Antiphona)
Oráte pro nobis, omnes Sancti,
ut digni efficiámur promissiónibus Christi.
Amen.
