Without God’s forgiveness, there would be no hope. We cannot stop sinning on our own. We are not good enough, and, left to our own devices, our own history would mimic that of the nation of Israel. Just as they continued to sin and deserved judgment, so we would keep sinning and incur God’s wrath. But praise God that He chose to have compassion on all who turn to Him!
