House Democratic leaders were blindsided yesterday after two rank-and-file members made the highly unconventional move of voting with Republicans to advance a series of GOP-backed bills. Democratic Congressman Jared Golden of Maine and Congresswoman Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington voted with most Republicans to set up debate on the bills, which included a resolution condemning socialism.
