Which countries have been the most successful in figure skating since the early 2000s? In this video, I count down the top five through their biggest champions, strongest eras, and the skaters leading them today. From Yuzuru Hanyu and Nathan Chen to Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, Alexandra Trusova, and the rise of Russian women’s skating, I look at the results and the different training traditions behind them. HOW THE RANKING WORKS The ranking uses senior World Championship and individual Olympic medals from 2001 through 2026. Countries are ranked by gold medals first, then silver, then bronze. All four disciplines count: men’s singles, women’s singles, pairs, and ice dance. Olympic team medals are excluded.
