A MODERN TAKE ON AN 18TH CENTURY SKIRT: THE COQUELICOT SKIRT SEW ALONG FROM WILDFLOWER DESIGNS *** Hello Makers and welcome to Sheer Stitchery! This skirt pattern, from an up and coming Canadian indie designer, Wildflower Designs, takes it's inspiration from the 18th century skirts and petticoat pocket designs. Now, this style of skirt / petticoat is not unique to the 18th century, but it was certainly quite prominent at that time. It uses a laced inner waistband to cinch the skirt in and closes uses ties. It is a bit more involved than your typical skirt, but certainly well worth it. Given the fact that this has a nod to vintage styles, I could not pass up on sharing this sew along with you (and my love of all things vintage). I also hacked this pattern so you can learn to sew a skirt with a ruffle hem and modify the pattern so you can make this too! *** ♡ SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL (It’s free!): https://www.youtube.com/c/SheerStitch... ♡ INSTAGRAM:   / sheerstitchery   ♡ FACEBOOK:   / sheerstitchery   ♡ PINTEREST: https://www.pinterest.ca/kathihime ♡ MINERVA: https://www.minerva.com/people/1000147 ------------------------------------ ⭐️TIMESTAMPS⭐️ 00:00 - About the Pattern 00:51 - Pattern Review of the Coquelicot Skirt 07:48 - Altering the Skirt for the Optional Ruffle Hem 09:06 - The Pockets 13:06 - Finish the Edges of the Skirt (side seams) 14:10 - Attach the Pockets to the Skirt 15:26 - The Lacing Loops 16:26 - The Waistband and Lacing Panel 22:07 - Attaching the Lacing Panel to the Skirt 22:56 - Attaching the Back Waistband to the Skirt 25:50 - Attaching the Front Waistband & Ties to the Skirt 29:46 - Attaching the Skirt Front to the Back 32:06 - Attaching the Optional Ruffle Hem 34:36 - The Lacing Ties 36:01 - The Reveal! ⭐️ RESOURCES & LINKS MENTIONED IN THIS VIDEO⭐️ Coquelicot Skirt Pattern by Wildflower Designs: https://www.wildflowerdesignpatterns....
