I tried it with Kusarigama and Ninja Hoko and Shield, I did, just didn't feel they were adding anything and they were being used for the sake of it. Switchglaive I was on for a while, decent, but trading that out for Odachi was absolutely the right choice. Was using Nekomata and Ho-oh for a while trying to get use out of vortex talons, it was okay. But this! This is the right move. Showing off Spear's manoeuvrability, Odachi, I didn't even know I had that Low Stance skill equipped, worked like a dream! Thought I had Moonlit Snow Charge on. Gonna be having fun with this I am! Great matchup, really great matchup! Every part of a great matchup has to be great, can't spin the wheels on a weapon. Tonfa and Talons, classics, familiar, good things to come out of a dodge, Tonfa has good air, Talons has decent, just enough high commitment stuff to have something fun to do, just good flow to them to be more than some ambiguous whacking between ninjutsu, felt purposeful. The final blow wasn't much, but it's better than choking. And don't let me never say nothing bad about Demon of Obsession neither. Beautiful lad. Such a good flow. Always has a great answer for you at any range, will not be fooled easily, his cannon spin is such a good trick, excellent to know you can burst break that now, at least presumably if it's to end with a burst attack. His little two step stomp, tricky as ever. So glad I adapted and made the fight my own. Honestly, best centaur, best Ebrietas style big lunk with a lot of charges, what have you...just a grand old time. Had a wonderful moment just heading off for a bog break when I thought about how well he flowed and changed strategy, "Wait, he's like Lost Lace!" Anyways, had a thought about his design too, he's kinda colonial? Like, with the big cannon, Bakumatsu, gunboat diplomacy, right? His dark realm phase shift attack before half health, he kinda knights you, left, right, middle. And course the horns are a bit crownier than the others. Good for ramming, really. His design otherwise, bald, big body, beads, rope, gonna evoke a sumo, including that horn which reminds me of the topknot and they also do the left right middle when praying to the gods of the ring or thanking the gyoji for the wodge of cash, so that's probably a lot more relevant. Also covered in dogs. Black dogs, which in England are signs of ill omen, dunno about Japan, but dogs are emblems of hunger, of chase, especially fierce ones like these. Open stomach symbolises unending hunger, especially with a dog in the middle. I think it's pertinent to compare western imagery in this particular boss because he's in the Bakumatsu, the era of opening to the west. Also, just wonderful presentation, such a nice view (I made it my new ps5 background), and the wind and his bigness, really makes the music hamner in the finality of him in the part of the journey that he is, he's the last and greatest of Kunimatsu's inner demons and this music is so good at building up, sustaining, then resolving, it's like you're standing up to the strongest hurricane, comprehending everything it is, and then quelling it, putting the nightmares to bed. It's what a secret boss should be, a feeling of "I've stopped something terrible. Now, I can rest."
